A turret is a fixed defense that protects lanes and the base, attacks nearby enemies and grants vision.

Taking one down opens room to place wards and enter the enemy jungle. Its value extends beyond its gold reward.

Fighting under an enemy turret requires tracking its target: a switch in turret aggro can decide the play.
